This challenge takes you to 5 Lakeland summits - Ullock Pike, Long Side, Carl Side, Skiddaw and Bakestall.

You'll climb about 1,418 metres (4,670 feet)

You'll walk about 13 km (8 miles)

 

This is positively the best way to climb Skiddaw, one of only four mountains in the Lake District (and England) over 3,000 feet.

Despite it's proximity to the tourist honeypot of Keswick this is not a particularly well trodden route and you may have the hills to yourself for most of the way. Skiddaw is the exception with it's wide, easy path to the summit from the Keswick direction. Many thousands of tourists make the trip from Keswick during the Summer months but fortunately you won't be mingling with the crowds as you approach the summit of Skiddaw from a different direction.
