The Fairfield Horseshoe

This challenge takes you to 8 Lakeland summits - Nab Scar, Heron Pike, Great Rigg, Fairfield, Hart Crag, Dove Crag, High Pike and Low Pike
You'll climb about 1,066 metres (3,506 feet)
You'll walk about 16 km (10 miles)
This route is the classic 'Fairfield Horseshoe' - probably the most popular of all the 'horseshoe' routes in the district. Although there are no technical difficulties this route should not be underestimated as it is deceptively long and with no quick descents back to populated areas. The summit of Fairfield in particular can be a confusing place in mist.
