Winter skills training
Have fun in the snow & learn some vital skills
There's no doubt about it Winter is the best time of year to venture into the mountains. To see the mountains covered in their Winter clothes on a clear, crisp day can be a truly spectacular experience. However Winter conditions also make it the most dangerous time of year to venture into the hills. Snow and ice bring with them added hazards and the most minor of accidents in these conditions can quickly develop into life threatening situations.
By acquiring basic Winter skills you will become more confident and better equipped to deal with Winter conditions. You'll be able to make more informed decisions about your own and your groups' safety and, most importantly will know your own limitations.
We can help you to acquire these basic Winter skills, which include the use of essential equipment such as crampons and ice axes. Nobody should venture into the mountains in Winter without being properly equipped - with gear and knowledge.
Wwhy not get a group of friends, colleagues or family together and spend a weekend in Scotland learning some potentially life saving skills - and having some fun in the process.
These courses are fun but we can only run them in Winter! We use the Highlands of Scotland for these courses and are wholly dependent on Mother Nature providing the 'white stuff'! If conditions permit we can also run Winter skills training in the Lake District.
Weekend and mid-week courses are available, just contact us to discuss details.
